dotfile Posted April 20, 2025 Report Posted April 20, 2025 While looking for tokubetsu juyo blades, found a recent auction at aoi: https://sword-auction.com/en/product/26297/as25027-刀無銘近景第24回特別重要刀剣/ I think it's not normal to see bids on tokubetsu juyo given the price points. I'm wondering what this TJ Chikakage is good for. I can see it's very healthy for a 700 years old blade, has fine jigane and maybe a textbook example of sanko-boshi. Any ideas? Quote
atm Posted April 20, 2025 Report Posted April 20, 2025 Interestingly, the bids above 17M JPY were only from two bidders. Few people can participate in a bidding war at those price levels. Quote
Mark S. Posted April 20, 2025 Report Posted April 20, 2025 AOI’s Juyo Kotetsu starts at 60 million yen… $421,000 and change. Just a hair over my current year nihonto budget. 1 1 Quote
