Popeye8921 Posted April 18 Report Posted April 18 Hello everyone! Was hoping for a bit of help if y'all don’t mind, just recently won this and was hoping for a decipher. I believe it’s a Seki Yoshida Kaneuji. Was hoping if anyone notices a date on it possibly? Also the other side I believe has some other inscription too if you really zoom in and look, but I cannot tell and think maybe I’m just seeing things. Thank you for your time and knowledge everyone! Bruce Pennington Posted April 18 Report Posted April 18 Mark, I don't see a date. Can you get a close, clear shot of those marks at the top of the nakago on the signed side? Might be a Showa stamp. If so, I can get you a date estimate. Quote

Will do once I get delivery of it. It will be about 2 weeks before it’s in my hands Quote

Bruce Pennington Posted Sunday at 02:59 PM Report Posted Sunday at 02:59 PM Thanks Mark. With the corrosion, it's hard to say for sure, but I think there is a Showa stamp. I have dated blades from him, on file, made in 1940, '41, and '42. Most Showa-stamped blades were made in 1940 - 1941. 1 Quote
