drbvac Posted April 4 Author Report Posted April 4 Well I figured it would be Ray or Marcus if anyone could = what type of nihonto blade has a threaded nakago? Police or Officers sword - smaller ones Quote
PNSSHOGUN Posted April 5 Report Posted April 5 Masayuki was active as a smith in Taisho and early Showa, during the period the Type 19 Kyu Gunto was the standard army officers sword. Often you see such threaded Nakago, whether purpose made or altered, on earlier Kyu Gunto or parade swords made during Meiji. If you have further photos of the blade and mounts it would be easier to say for sure. 1 Quote
