Gerry Posted April 3 Report Posted April 3 https://www.jauce.com/auction/h1178916285 Seems like gunto can be quite popular even in Japan, given the final selling price of 665K yen for this Yoshichika. I thought the frayed tsukamaki might turn some buyers off, but I guess the colonel's tassel and double ashi saya made up for it. 2 Quote
PNSSHOGUN Posted April 3 Report Posted April 3 This was made by the less seldom seen Nidai Yoshichika. There was some claimed provenance to a Lt Colonel who was a member of the Imperial Guards. Overall a handsome sword. Quote
Michaelr Posted April 4 Report Posted April 4 Just my opinion, I think it is a beautiful sword with great mounts, in great condition. That being said I think that it was a fair price. Not cheap but fair. Many times price is relative to what you like and the money you have to spend at the time. Those that have been collecting for a long time have all spent a premium price for those one or two ( or more ) items that we Really Liked and wanted for Ourselves 1 Quote
