Marius Posted February 11, 2010 Report Posted February 11, 2010 Dear All, I have a tusba (see viewtopic.php?f=2&t=6859) which has come in a box. There is what I suspect might be an attributionon, on the box. Would you kindly help me with this writing? Thank you ever so much for your time and kind help Quote
george trotter Posted February 11, 2010 Report Posted February 11, 2010 Mariusz, It seems to say (I may be way off), (right column) "Kusa ni Reki? Zu? Tan To" ...Remembering/recalling? the Grass tanto (left Column) "Hei An Jo"...Heianjo (Kyoto) I'm no tsuba collector, but the inscription does not seem to relate to the tsuba in your link? Regards, George. Quote

Anyhow, thanks again Quote

Actually, my writing is much poorer. BTW, the writings on the box are; 草に雁図 (Kusa ni Kari/Gan no zu) – picture of grass and geeth 短刀 – Tanto ( -> used for a tanto?) 平安城 – Heianjo ( -> attribution?) Bugyotsuji Posted February 11, 2010 Report Posted February 11, 2010 I am guessing that geeth must be geese with a lisp! Heianjo is the type of tsuba, right? Quote
