Swords Posted March 9 Report Posted March 9 Something different other then swords I believe it’s an ww2 Japanese Rear Admiral’s Flag some holes here an there Was this used during WW2 M guessing it was used when an admiral was on the ship Approximately 52in x 32in. Quote
John C Posted March 9 Report Posted March 9 Steve: What are the measurements of the flag? It should be 1 meter in width. If you have access to a black light, you could test it for modern chemicals. Are there any markings on the flag? Should be something there indicating the size (2, 3, 4, etc.) in "haba", or sections. I suggest taking a look at Nick Komiya's write-up on the Japanese standard. He goes into great detail about the sizes of flags and how to recognize if they are genuine or not. https://www.warrelics.eu/forum/Japanese-militaria/banner-golden-brocade-647336-4/ John C. Quote
