There is a decently priced star-stamped Kaneshige being sold from Japan. Personally, I'm leery of buying from Japan so I'll post this for others.

I searched but this sword is not for sale on Yahoo, Jauce or Mercari. Looks like the seller is only interested in the foreign marketplace.

This seller lists swords both on ebay and Yahoo Japan auctions, and isn't one of the dodgy re-listers. The Gunto tend to appear on ebay and not Yahoo Japan...

Two others with attractive prices but with no bids.

Ppl worried about kizu? We have seen  Japanese sellers use eBay as a dumping around.

 

Have to say if I was starting out the 700$  mumei  wakizashi with papers Would be a starter. 

That said I haven't enlarged each photo to see if there's a problem.

I did take a quick look with the hadori polish there's really not much to learn from.  Proceed with caution

Posting more photos for later when the link goes dead.  Seller got the date wrong, it's July 1944.  I have another of his, same date, same fittings, but different painted numbers.  Both have the light tan, steel saya, but double chuso release buttons.
