rebcannonshooter Posted February 19 Report Posted February 19 Hi Kevin, The leather cover had me put off a bit, but your sword is a real Japanese sword from WW2. The tang is quite rusty so it's hard to read. What I can make out is "No-Shu Ju Tomo??? Hide??? Saku". With the rust I'm not super confident, maybe one of the guys with better eyes will way in with their opinion. Tom M. Quote

Kyle68 Posted February 19 Report Posted February 19 Would this blade be made by Ichihara Nagamitsu since it was made during WW2? Or could it be from another Nagamitsu? Is the Mei gimei or real? Quote
Stephen Posted February 19 Report Posted February 19 (edited) I would think other Ichihara has very distinct chisel cut mei https://www.Japanese...rdindex.com/naga.htm Edited February 19 by Stephen Correcting autocorrect 1 Quote

Tohagi Posted February 20 Report Posted February 20 Seems to have been acid etched to me... a pity. I saw leather covered saya by the past, but never with Tokyo writen in romanji, very unusual... Regards Eric Quote
