Deepwater Posted February 11 Report Posted February 11 (edited) Here we go, Nagasaki 59cm, Nakago 15.1 cm, Sori 1.5 cm, Kissaki-Yokote 3.5 cm. MEI From what I have been informed and my personal time in the “Rabbit Hole” ??? 則 宗 <Norimune> I would like to learn anything I can about this blade. Every time I look at it I see something new. Any opinions or references would be greatly appreciated. I apologize in advance i am not a photographer by any means Thanks in advance DougK Edited February 11 by Deepwater It is my first post Quote
Lewis B Posted February 11 Report Posted February 11 This is probably not a kodachi, more likely a Wakizashi. I believe generally speaking Kodachi were worn like Tachi (edge down) and the Mei on this blade is on the wrong side for tachi-style wear. This blade would have been worn edge up like a katana. Quote
sabiji Posted February 11 Report Posted February 11 I think this was originally a little over 2 shaku long. The sword is somewhat machiokuri, so the nakago was also shorter, and it will have been a classic katate uchigatana. Quote
Bugyotsuji Posted February 12 Report Posted February 12 Ah thanks. Yes, Norimune (Norisada?) as suggested on the other thread. 1 Quote
