MEI From what I have been informed and my personal time in the “Rabbit Hole” ???  則 宗    <Norimune>

I would like to learn anything I can about this blade. Every time I look at it I see something new.

Any opinions or references would be greatly appreciated.

I apologize in advance i am not a photographer by any means

    Thanks in advance DougK

This is probably not a kodachi, more likely a Wakizashi. I believe generally speaking Kodachi were worn like Tachi (edge down) and the Mei on this blade is on the wrong side for tachi-style wear. This blade would have been worn edge up like a katana.

I think this was originally a little over 2 shaku long. The sword is somewhat machiokuri, so the nakago was also shorter, and it will have been a classic katate uchigatana.
