Rmartinjr Posted February 8 Report Posted February 8 Good morning, I have a couple of items that my grandfather brought back. One being this type 98 officer sword I have the first character as.Sada, but have ran into trouble with the second thank you all for any help you might be able to provide. Quote
Ray Singer Posted February 8 Report Posted February 8 Your sword is a WWII era shingunto and the blade is Showa era and signed Sadaharu. There are several threads below which maybe helpful to read through. https://www.google.c...rome-mobile&ie=UTF-8 2 Quote
george trotter Posted February 8 Report Posted February 8 Hi Robert, It looks like the smith name is SADAHARU. I can't find anything except there were two smiths of this name working in Bingo province in the 15-16 century, but yours seems more likely modern WWII period. Maybe some blade photos would help...any date on the other side of tang? Regards... Oh, Ray beat me to it. 1 Quote
