PNSSHOGUN Posted February 6 Report Posted February 6 Seeking professional assistance with profuse writing on the Fuchi: 3 1 Quote
moriarty Posted February 6 Report Posted February 6 Greetings John,, Thanks for letting such an interesting piece, militaria with some attached history is always a plus. Giving it the old college try: Left Outer Side X四海軍予え- (Fourth Naval Fleet Preliminary/Reserves? ) If any, the kanji above should be 第 Right Inner Fuchi- 二七七五 - (2-7-7-5) Left Inner Fuchi- 遞松岡下XホX - (Matsuoka Shita..Ho..) Hope this helps somewhat 3 Quote
robinalexander Posted February 6 Report Posted February 6 Well that's a little bit special John .... very nice to have that info Quote
PNSSHOGUN Posted February 6 Author Report Posted February 6 Very interesting, thank you Maurice for the help. The numbers match what is stamped on all the fittings, there is also a Mon that I thought was referenced but the unit information is rather special. There is a Chumon-mei on the Nakago for a "Hideo Sanyogawa - 三代川英雄所持" who graduated from the 74th class at Etajima. 2 1 Quote

PNSSHOGUN Posted February 7 Author Report Posted February 7 Thank you Moriyama Sama, that is most interesting. Given the different names, you wonder if Lt Matsuoka arranged this sword for Lt Sanyogawa? 1 Quote
