JAL Posted February 5 Report Posted February 5 Dear all, on a kozuka I got this mei and kao. The first kanji seems a combined kanji for Omori which I had not seen before. I am puzxled what it is and what the mei is. Any views? best regards John L Quote
Nobody Posted February 5 Report Posted February 5 According to Wakayama, it reads Terumsa (英昌). Quote

Franco D Posted February 5 Report Posted February 5 2 hours ago, Nobody said: According to Wakayama, it reads Terumsa (英昌) Regarding mei; looks to be 1st generation, close to Sesko Meikan example, but hurried imho. Shinsa is the way to know for certain. 26 minutes ago, JAL said: Thank you, would that be Ōmori Terumasa? Here is a picture. Based upon the only example that I could find linked below for comparison, I would say no. Please, make up your own mind. https://tsubashi.com...rumasa-FK-set-01.jpg 1 Quote

Andrew Posted February 6 Report Posted February 6 Hi John, Thank You for showing your nice kozuka. It is always dificullt to judge from pictures.Allt details appears and sometime worse and sometimes often better in hand. Allt detailes will come forward in perhaps not that correct way. Have been looking in at the mei that You asked information about. It`s as the translation says Omori Terumasa, The head Master of the Omori school. I would say the mei is correct. Of cause a NBTHK jugdement would be the final and correct but as i could see the mei is correct for Terumasa. All best Andrew Quote
