RobertM Posted January 30, 2010 Report Posted January 30, 2010 Hi all, does anyone have any details on a artist who singed Bishu ju masayoshi thanks Quote
Pete Klein Posted January 30, 2010 Report Posted January 30, 2010 Robert -- you need to post a picture of the mei and of the tsuba or fitting. Just the name is not enough information as there are a number of makers by that name. Quote
Ludolf Richter Posted January 31, 2010 Report Posted January 31, 2010 Hi Robert.I din't find any Tosogu-artist Masayoshi, who signed with Bishu ju,but there are some members of the Ito-Family at Edo who signed with Bushu ju.Please check the first Kanji.Ludolf Quote
docliss Posted January 31, 2010 Report Posted January 31, 2010 Dear Robert, I believe that Haynes does in fact list two artists who signed BISHU (NO)JU MASAYOSHI. The first, Ichiguchi Masayoshi (H 04789.0), used the kanji 正吉 and the second, Fukui Masayoshi (H 04866.0), used 政吉. But, as Pete Klein suggests, we really need more detail before we can hope to progress any further. John L. Quote
