LeonKr Posted January 27 Report Posted January 27 Got these two tsuba recently with some other stuff. It is not my interest of collecting and would some info on these iff possible. Both are to my opinion very large the one with the frog is around 12cm ( 4,75") in high and the other one around 10,5cm (4,1" ) 1 Quote
Matsunoki Posted January 27 Report Posted January 27 The subject on the toad tsuba is Gama Sennin with his three legged toad. Yes, that is a big tsuba! The other one depicts Fukurokuju laughing whilst reading a scroll with a child(?), also a large tsuba. Both obviously Katana size, both Edo probably early 1800s (just an opinion) Google those names and you’ll find loads of info. 1 Quote
LeonKr Posted January 28 Author Report Posted January 28 Hi Colin, Thanks very much for the info about the characters on the tsuba. Will see off I find more info about the child.... Could this be a set for a Daisho ? Quote

Whether they were made as a daisho or just put together later it’s difficult to say without being able to compare iron surfaces etc etc but …..maybe. Quote
