Xander Chia Posted January 27 Report Posted January 27 Just received my package today and was quite disappointed to see the result. The wooden piece was in place when I unboxed it and there wasn’t much room for the tsuba to move around. I bought the item through JAUCE. I’m guessing either the wooden piece came loose mid shipment, and ended up back to the centre by the time it arrived, or it was the original seller that didn’t pack it right. I don’t think there’s much that I can do now but maybe I’ll post this one up for sale. Maybe someone out there doesn’t mind the scratches or has a way to fix it. 3 5 Quote

Bugyotsuji Posted January 27 Report Posted January 27 Been there, done that, and it’s the worst feeling. (At least you are not blaming yourself though.) Feel for you! Lesson to us all to request careful packaging, in advance of shipment. Quote
Brian Posted January 27 Report Posted January 27 This has always been a huge no-no for shipping tsuba. The seller should know better. I would take it up with him, and ask for a partial refund. Speak to one of Ford's students, I am sure they can repatinate it that you'll never know. 1 Quote
Curran Posted January 27 Report Posted January 27 Counterparty risk. It is surprising that even Japanese seller muck this up a lot. Even my own agent did this one time recently. Quote
Xander Chia Posted January 28 Author Report Posted January 28 Thanks for all the replies and suggestions. I have already sent an email to Jauce but I’m not too sure what they can do, considering that it is unclear when the item was damaged. I’m not too sure whether it’s worth to repatinate or if I have the patience for it. The scratches are quite deep too and may still be visible after. Thought I might as well share the whole thing. 1 Quote
Bugyotsuji Posted January 28 Report Posted January 28 Nice tsuba ! (There seem to be other, older dings and scratches from before, so maybe things can be toned down somewhat.) Quote
