I started with a snipe that ran out and then I started bidding was out bid at each step and out bid so I gave it up.

Played that game one too many times.

Just liked the offbeat design, I go for the ones are not the norm, it would have been nice to have but c'est la vie

I also asked myself why are you bidding on Tsuba you haven't bought anything  and not cared about them for some time.

I blame it on a new enthusiastic member who's buying right in left...

Boy do I remember them days lol

She knows who I'm talking about ;-) ;-)

is a TEIMEI TSUBA, signed SADANAGA, not SADAYOSHI, and unusually large

Thank you Jean for the correction and information

I didn't know that Picasso ever designed tsuba... but that is clearly a cubist tsuba!

I assumed it's a ax head

Yes, one could think so, but in fact, it is a naturalistic depiction of a steering rudder of a boat (called FUNA KADASHI in the auction's description).

Dale,

thank you so much! Very interesting to see the small variations! Unfortunately, I cannot read the signatures properly, but they seem not to be all by TEIMEI (SADANAGA).
