cdrcm12 Posted January 11 Report Posted January 11 I've been trying to identify the school for this one, a common theme of tea ceremony utensils. Dimensions below: Shape: Nagamaru-gata Mimi: Maru-mimi Height: 69.5mm Width: 65.5mm Mimi thk: 4.65mm Seppa dai thk: 4.85mm Nakago ana: 23mm x 7mm I thought possibly Choshu or Kinai but not too sure, hence the question. At one point I even thought Akasaka but I don't think it's a theme this school would have used. Any thoughts welcome. 3 Quote
Kurikata Posted January 11 Report Posted January 11 This tsuba looks like a shoami school one to me. Similar one : https://www.lookandl...ea-ceremony-utensils Quote
Shugyosha Posted January 11 Report Posted January 11 My first thought was Kyo Shoami as the style of carving reminded me of a tsuba that I once had but maybe that’s too specific. Quote
ROKUJURO Posted January 11 Report Posted January 11 I thought immediately of BUSHU. They had many different styles but one line looks somewhat similar to me: Quote
Spartancrest Posted January 12 Report Posted January 12 Hi Colin you might find something in this lot. Quote
cdrcm12 Posted January 12 Author Report Posted January 12 All, Thank you for your responses, a couple of options to further explore. Dale, I'll take a look at that thread. Quote
Mark S. Posted January 12 Report Posted January 12 I very much like the original example. Tea ceremony theme items are one of my areas of interest. Quote
