Hello everyone, I hope you had a good Christmas with your families.
This is one of my Christmas gifts, bought at an auction.  I'm quite satisfied, there are gaps, there are elements that are not from the same period but that's okay, I like it and that's the main thing as they say.
Compared to the different Mon on the body or on the Kabuto, could there be a match?  as a vassal?

Thank you in advance for your comments.
Sincerely
Dimitri

Good Christmas “gift”

Unfortunately the scarce pictures are quite blurry and don’t tell much about the whole. However, you may be right, it’s composed by different parts at a glance. As Maurice mentioned, the helmet is nice and bears some age, probably the oldest part of this “set”. The shikoro, on the other hand, seems to be not original to the hachi. Hence, a comparison (assignment) of the mon on the fukigaeshi and the one on the hitsu is quite senseless…

If you like to share more pictures, don’t hesitate to ;-)

Thank you for this review. 🙏🙏
I suspect that it's entirely just pieces taken here and there but it caught my eye as they say and with a really low budget.
I took closer photos, I hope you will be more satisfied.
It's a little damaged but frankly I've seen worse.

I like it, especially the Kabuto, though know nothing about armour.

I'm not keen on the maedate for some reason, if it were mine would look for something more of the usual, more subtle.

Though that's just my opinion and what i would do.

Alex, thank you very much for the comment, I somewhat agree, the maedate is a little big, see if later.
dear Uwe, the Do and the shikoro are well laced in leather, I took photos. mempo also.  only the soles are laced in fabric or silk.
But same dye.

Thanks for the close-ups, as I've commented above, it's quite the beautiful (if mismatched) arrangement. If my limited knowledge serves correctly, the Kabuto should be no older than late 16th or 17th century, like most pieces of surviving armor.

Hope you enjoy this Christmas present to the fullest!

Thank you, oh yes I greatly appreciate it.
This is a very nice Christmas gift 🤩🤩
On the description, there was middle and later Edo period. So frankly it’s a good compromise and frankly I think the whole thing suits it well.

Afterwards I won't regret it but in hindsight, I could have seriously bought 2 or 3 during this sale, the prices were unusually LOW, at the price of a saber said to be correct for certain armors.
