Yves55 Posted December 24, 2024 Report Posted December 24, 2024 My first tsuba of this type. After some research, I'm overwhelmed by the amount of differences... Here are some figures: 71,9 x 58,5 x 7,2 (rim) / 5,0 (seppa) / 8,3 (mon) 127 gr Any comments are most welcome. Quote
lonely panet Posted December 24, 2024 Report Posted December 24, 2024 looks like a nice type 98 shingunto tsuba, the pierced version is a nice upmarket option . they also have fat/thick versions on the type 94 too Quote
Spartancrest Posted December 25, 2024 Report Posted December 25, 2024 This might be the thick type 94/98 Hamfish was referring to? https://www.jauce.com/auction/d1166806570 I should point out there are many fakes coming out of China trying to confuse the collector. [It does make you wonder why? When millions were made during the war and there really should be no shortage of the real thing] No locking mechanism hole but hitsu on a military tsuba that never had kogai/kozuka? It does not compute! 2 Quote
