Tengu1957 Posted Friday at 12:41 AM Report Posted Friday at 12:41 AM I don't remember that I had posted this before but if I had it's been some time ago. O Suriage Nambokucho Tachi attributed to Sa Sadayoshi , student of O Sa . One of the 10 best students of Masamune. It has a kin zogan mei Sa , Sadayoshi on both side of the Nakago. There is an Edo period Horimono added to the sword. 71.2 cm Syagaki by Mr. Tanobe 3 7 1 1 Quote
ROKUJURO Posted Saturday at 01:10 AM Report Posted Saturday at 01:10 AM Is that really a granite plate the blade is resting on? Quote

PNSSHOGUN Posted Saturday at 02:20 AM Report Posted Saturday at 02:20 AM Beautiful, thank you for sharing. Do you have any idea who the Kinzogan attribution was done by? Quote
Tengu1957 Posted Saturday at 03:39 AM Author Report Posted Saturday at 03:39 AM It's not mentioned in the saya gaki who added it. The paper did not mention it either but both agreed with the attribution. 1 Quote

Crossed my mind but then I noticed the blade cushion. All good. Fine sword in what appears to be nice polish. Would love to see some pics of the activity. Quote
Gakusee Posted Saturday at 08:17 AM Report Posted Saturday at 08:17 AM Thank you for posting it, Gary. It is always enjoyable to see high-quality swords from time to time here. Oftentimes, the majority of the posts have the low-end starter blades which newcomers enquire about, unless people post about militaria shows etc. That is normal and understood but blades like yours are a rare treat. Not much activity, hamon etc can be seen here apart from the Nanbokucho kissaki in this stout blade. Interesting, unusual horimono too. Could you please clarify: is this kinzogan or kinpun mei? Unfortunately I cannot see the detail on my mobile and the eyes are not what they used to be. Thanks again. 1 Quote
Tengu1957 Posted Saturday at 11:07 AM Author Report Posted Saturday at 11:07 AM It's Kinzogan. I will take a better image of the activity. It must have been quite long before the Osuriage. Sorry for the poor images. Quote
atm Posted Saturday at 03:55 PM Report Posted Saturday at 03:55 PM Thanks for posting @Tengu1957. Do you have a translation of the Tanobe Sensei sayagaki that you can share here? Quote
Lewis B Posted Saturday at 04:48 PM Report Posted Saturday at 04:48 PM From the bits I can read it appears Tanobe liked it and no arguments there. Quote
