tbonesullivan Posted December 17, 2024 Report Posted December 17, 2024 Finally got back to some swords that have been around for a bit, now that the Christmas rush at work is over. Have a VERY nice Kai-Gunto by TSUKAHARA KANETSUGU. It's a SEKI marked blade, signed 濃 州 住 塚 原 兼 次 謹 作 - NOSHU JU TSUKAHARA KANETSUGU KIN SAKU Haven't gotten any chance to take full pictures, but we found a very interesting marking on one of the seppa, which I have not seen before. It looks like TFC and a cherry blossom with an anchor. Does anyone know what these stand for? Quote
BANGBANGSAN Posted December 17, 2024 Report Posted December 17, 2024 The meaning of the TEC mark is unknown,it should from some sword shop, it only appears on naval swords. Can you post more photo of the fitting ? 2 1 Quote
Jcstroud Posted December 19, 2024 Report Posted December 19, 2024 Tomita Electric Company if I am correct ? Quote
PNSSHOGUN Posted December 19, 2024 Report Posted December 19, 2024 The T.E.C stamp has been found on swords from different Koshirae makers, I do not believe it's related to any electric company. Quote
robinalexander Posted December 20, 2024 Report Posted December 20, 2024 I love to know what TEC stood for but it does appear that the Tomita Electric Company started in 1952 from a parent company (1950). Quote
