Happy holiday season to everyone here,

I saw an auction with a supposedly hozon blade, however the papers seem significantly different from what I have previously seen as hozon. I am wondering if this is a forgery or just an older generation of appraisals I am not quite familiar with.

thank you all

This looks to be a 1985 NBTHK Hozon paper that attributes a katana as a Naminohira school work.   Early Hozon papers had oshigsta rather than photos of the nakago.  In hand, the paper should have the water mark logo and micro kanji of "ni" "to" 'ho" as precaution against fake papers.  Mumei Naminohira is not a popular attribution for malefactors to contrive.  Naminohira works often have clear kantei points.
