I picked up one of these at the SF sword show as well as a print of the Benkei bridge at night.  I have them on display in my office.

I don’t know  if someone here remembers the seller, but he had probably 15 of the 47 prints available. He was an older gentleman with blonde hair and wore Hawaiian shirts and was a little eccentric. I’ll see if I can find his name.

Thank you both, yes that is the series - thought there would be loads of them on yahoo Japan but no such luck. If you could find the seller it would be much appreciated, they are very handsome framed.

I bought this original? years ago and have displayed it in my foyer.  Never knew its meaning or history.  Now I know - thank you!

Only just noticed that Kuniyoshi's depiction of Hazama Kihei Mitsunobu (Yama Kihei Mistunobu) has what looks very much like an Ainu Pattern Cowl.

Kuniyoshi was known for his eclectic interests including Western Perspective, Dutch Old Masters and Cats

Any Thoughts on this?

I don't have the contact of the guy that sold them to me at the SF show. However, if he is at the Vegas show here in 4 weeks, I'll get his contact information and pass it your way. He had 4 or 5 of the 47 ronin set among other Kuniyoshi in his items for sale.
