Hello everyone

I have recently acquired a sword, and know absolutely nothing about it ( not even it's proper name). However it was my late father's and would love to gain some info.

1) what is the proper name for this style?

2) Is this worth restoring and if so how much?

3) A Translation of the text on the tang

4) A rough date of when it was made?

Any information would be awesome.

Signed Tsuda Echizen no kami Sukehiro. Unfortunately the inscription does not appear to be authentic, I would not consider it to be a good target for investing in restoration.

Best regards,

Tsuka looks like home made replacement, or cheap Chinese replica. Samegawa also looks plastic/rubber type.

Tsuba and Fuchi seems old and looks legit.
