Swords Posted November 4 Author Report Posted November 4 I have more didn’t think it mattered much but here’s more Quote
NewB Posted November 4 Report Posted November 4 I know the seller reliable however the blades are either out of polish or with flaws or gimei look at the prices of his papered examples just fyi y Quote
Swords Posted November 4 Author Report Posted November 4 Thanks for that Newb you’re probably right A gimei is a big concern Quote
NewB Posted November 4 Report Posted November 4 I’m not stating it is gimei but usually his papered pieces are not no reserve auction i bought some pieces that papered later but I did a lot of research before purchasing y Quote
ChrisW Posted November 4 Report Posted November 4 Buy the blade for what it is, not the name it purports to be. If it is good workmanship, then the signature matters little. If the blade is not good workmanship, then there will be another that does speak to you eventually. Quote
Rivkin Posted November 4 Report Posted November 4 The signature looks sort of acceptable, the right calligraphy, the right condition. The issue is there is not much to see in the blade. Hazy suguha, hazy hada. Saiha? Can be, though sugata looks original. Very cheap dealer's polish? Another possibility. So yes, its plausible, but it does not appear to be in a collectible condition as is. One interesting thing to check on Sukesada's especially is how the shinogi is. If its very low, a good chance its original. Quote
Swords Posted November 5 Author Report Posted November 5 Can’t tell with these pictures Maybe a gimei maybe not especially with a big name as Sukasada Chris is right buy the sword not the smith I think there’s to many variables to consider Lots of good opinions though Steve Quote
Alex A Posted November 5 Report Posted November 5 Japan? Id assume its failed shinsa and someone is looking for a sucker. Best way to think, then you wont get burnt. Nothing interesting about it anyways. Quote
