Hi All,

Does anyone have a copy of the Bonhams auction catalog for the Edward Wrangham Collection Japanese Art Part I? There is a particular lot from the auction that I am hoping to gain some more information on.

Hi Geraint,

Thanks for the reply.

Yes, it was this online resource which brought the piece to my attention. It's one of the Kozuka listed (Lot 64but I was hoping to see the reverse of the piece that would show the mei as I am interested in examples for the artist Nakagami Mototsugu. My gut feeling is that given the limitations in print, the catalog will not offer any additional images of the piece but I thought it worth checking.

All the best, Andy

You're right, there is only 1 image and it's quite small and black and white. The text says it was purchased at Southeby's London, 1963 so there may be another image available.

Thanks very much for checking that for me Darrel. That's a good idea to search for any images from the earlier Sotherby's auction - I'll get digging now!
