AndyJP Posted October 31 Report Posted October 31 Hi All, Does anyone have a copy of the Bonhams auction catalog for the Edward Wrangham Collection Japanese Art Part I? There is a particular lot from the auction that I am hoping to gain some more information on. Thanks, Andy Quote
Geraint Posted October 31 Report Posted October 31 Dear Andy. I'm sure you have already tried this but just in case....... https://www.bonhams....e-art-part-i/?page=8 All the best. Quote
AndyJP Posted October 31 Author Report Posted October 31 Hi Geraint, Thanks for the reply. Yes, it was this online resource which brought the piece to my attention. It's one of the Kozuka listed (Lot 64) but I was hoping to see the reverse of the piece that would show the mei as I am interested in examples for the artist Nakagami Mototsugu. My gut feeling is that given the limitations in print, the catalog will not offer any additional images of the piece but I thought it worth checking. All the best, Andy 1 Quote
1kinko Posted November 1 Report Posted November 1 You're right, there is only 1 image and it's quite small and black and white. The text says it was purchased at Southeby's London, 1963 so there may be another image available. 1 Quote
AndyJP Posted November 1 Author Report Posted November 1 Thanks very much for checking that for me Darrel. That's a good idea to search for any images from the earlier Sotherby's auction - I'll get digging now! Quote
