Kantaro
I wonder if this is considered as Goto? What are you thoughts about the quality of these Fuchi and Kashira? Are the golden deer and its spotted black friend based on a legend or story? They do remind me about my nice time in Nara. Kind regards. Matsunoki
Paris, just an opinion but I would describe these as being of very modest quality and definitely not Goto. I do not think they depict a specific legend or story 3

You are very likely correct about the connection to Nara as the deer trade was historically an important part of the Nara economy. All parts of the deer would be sold or serve a purpose in Nara and deer themed fuchigashira are common from the Nara area. In fact, I have a similar fuchigashira in my collection which I received as a gift.

Spartancrest
https://en.japantrav...antler-cutting/23785 I fed some deer at Nara in 2016 - we were at the wrong time of year to see the antlers being cut. Just out of interest some of the antlers have become tsuba! Oh no! https://www.jauce.com/auction/g1157889471 Yes you guessed it - FROM NARA! 2

Not the best pictures off my phone camera but hopefully they'll suffice... This pair 100% come from Nara. The maple leaf on the side is also a common Nara image. Not exactly the same style as yours but the spotted deer makes the association with Nara likely! 1

Haha, I'd be too nervous to try and import any of this stuff into our country Dale, what with the strict wildlife protection laws and customs. Biological materials are an automatic pass!

Number 5 with the metal seppa-dai - not much bigger than a fifty cent piece with its own custom box [also not much bigger than a matchbox!] Had it since 2018 - is there a statute of limitations?
