The owner of this sword asked me for help finding it by translating the mei.
He bought it from the family of a Brazilian pilot from World War II, with good military documentation and photos from the time.
He said (he admits) that it is not a real guntõ, it is older. I am almost certain that it is an older sword, because the bo-hi goes all the way to the end of the nakago. It seems to have been a larger sword that was shortened to serve as a guntõ... So it is a gimei. Is that correct?
I would like your help to clarify this.
I thank you all in advance...
And I apologize for the images, which may not be so good.
They were sent to me by the owner.
