Bob61 Posted October 4 Report Posted October 4 Hello Gentleman I am back on this fantastic forum to ask once again for some assistance on a Wakizashi I have in my possession. It is papered. I am hoping that someone would be kind enough to help me find another sword made by this swordsmith or please translate for me the name. I am not a sword collector, so I am at a loss as to where to look. I have done some research, but to no avail. Thank you all. Bob Rae Quote
Rivkin Posted October 4 Report Posted October 4 Its a rare writing of Yasutsugu (康次) for Sagami lineage, so there is only one entry in Meikan which ends around Tembun (1500-1520)... I am a bit surprised how the blade looks like and don't quite recognize this kind of papers. 1 Quote

SteveM Posted October 6 Report Posted October 6 The paper is from the "Kantei Club" dated 1986 (I think). The paper was issued to Kajiwara Kōtōken, who himself was a well-known sword scholar and practitioner of martial arts. The Kantei Club issued papers from the late 80s to early 90s. The scabbard has a separate paper from the NBTHK, certifying the scabbard as "Hozon" (worthy of preservation). 4 Quote
