ROKUJURO
Another TSUBA with UME no HANA. Don't know the style/school, perhaps AKASAKA? But it looks more rustic in my opinion. 4

DoTanuki yokai
I have this one but between the sell at Aoi and me buying it someone has changed the Nakagoana what doesn’t matter for me at that time but now a few years later and more educated on the subject I think it is disgusting Edit: the link from https://www.aoijapan...gned-grape-design-4/ the picture quality is better Some really nice modern pieces are here http://www.jimkelso....imasaMemorial/album/

Geraint
Dear All. Some really lovely things, thank you for sharing, please keep them coming. One more in iron with silver and gold nunome. Shishi and peony themed. All the best.

It’s nice to see some traces of the forging but it lost its aestetics. Edit: to make it clear I bought it for 1/3 of the price at Aoi and only later found the pictures while researching the theme of it in the Aoi archive. It was a really good price when I bought it so I don’t feel bad about it just a little sad when I see how it looked.

MauroP
After a short time thinking which tsuba with plants theme I like the best, I resolved to propose some with akikusa - 秋草 - autumn flowers. All are simple, natural sketches from Aizu-Shōami school (just my opinion, none of them has a kanteisho). No masterworks here, but I appreciate the fine work of multicolor inlays. Please have a look at the updated version of Flora Hoplologica Japonica at: https://www.dropbox....0hr&st=n6fo0z5l&dl=0

Spartancrest
11 hours ago, Bugyotsuji said: six/seven of what kind? Mokko and...(?) Piers I don't know what plant they depict - Clematis or Lotus? The seven I have come in Maru, five lobed, six lobed, cut down with a fukurin [I can't tell what shape it started as], cut out petals and with flat petals. I have seen an eight lobed and a square one but they all have the same flower based centre. There are a very few with nunome and one of mine has silver liners to the hitsu. Shibuiswords had an article about the two they had, described as Asian export/Nanban. I have records of 25 of these so far, no two are the same and all appear hand made.
