Aethel_berht Posted September 25 Report Posted September 25 Hello all! I recently came into possession of an iron tsuba. Based off what I've seen it's a Tempo tsuba and (probably) latter Edo Period. Any information would be greatly appreciated! 2 Quote
Aethel_berht Posted September 25 Author Report Posted September 25 To add it's roughly 3.5 x 3.25 inches. Quote
cdrcm12 Posted September 26 Report Posted September 26 Hi Adam, Nice Tembo tsuba, I have a very similar one, size 86mm x 80mm, image below: My research indicates the mimi is maru with uchi-kaeshi at four corners, Saotome style carved rim. If you search 'hot stamps' in the NMB you should be able to identify the ones on your tsuba. 2 Quote

Aethel_berht Posted September 26 Author Report Posted September 26 Thanks to you both! I thought the tsuba was kinda interesting in its design. Quote
