The thread title basically says it all.

I am looking to purchase good quality Kinko mixed metal tsuba including the large Bakumatsu/Meiji period  “Art tsuba”

No need for papers, obvious gimei is OK provided the quality is good.

Mixed metal work on an iron plate is also a possible.

Preferably UK located but happy to talk about importing.

Flexible budget.
Please contact via PM

Thanks and all the best.

didn't figure you to be one accepting of obvious gime

Many superb tsuba carry names such as Iwamoto Konkan but are not by him, often referred to as “school of”. That happened a lot during Meiji. I’m interested in the quality of workmanship, the fact that it carries a doubtful Mei doesn’t bother me. Same can be said for the many truly beautiful  tsuba that carry the Natsuo Mei but clearly are not by him. To me (and many other metalwork collectors) it doesn’t carry the same “stigma” as gimei on swords.
