aabderson Posted September 18 Report Posted September 18 Can anyone make this out? Sorry if the picture is blurry. I think it may be “Fujiwara” but not sure Quote
Bugyotsuji Posted September 19 Report Posted September 19 Fujiwara Kinju, as Ray says; the same 金重 Kanji are also sometimes read with their alternate reading as Kaneshige. Quote
aabderson Posted September 20 Author Report Posted September 20 @Bugyotsuji so fujiwara kinju is also read as kaneshige? They are the same person? From the book I have, it mentions a Kinju that was a mino smith around the 1300’s that also signed kaneshige. Is this the same swordsmith? I included more pics of the blade Quote
Bugyotsuji Posted September 20 Report Posted September 20 There were two or three smiths using these Kanji characters. Both readings are possible, although sometimes people will refer to one specific smith with the alternative reading to distinguish him from the others. Quote
