WW2 Japanese NFL helmet

Hi I normally buy swords but I rarely see these come up for sale and have been looking for one for quite a while  

I asked a dealer for its authenticity and said was ok!

hopefully it’s a good one

Any translation would be appreciated

Moriyama Koichi is the name of the person who replied. Not the translation

Don't know if this team had anything to do with General Umezu.

If the 2nd translation is General Umezu. as Brian pointed out what’s the Yoneoka team unless they are both the same person or Yoneoka team has some meaning

Just a really wild guess, but if anything to do with him, then likely just a unit/group under his command.

That sounds logical I doubt a general would be wearing this helmet although it would be nice

I don’t think that is the original liner. Do you notice how this one is cloth as opposed to leather and the rivet is added to the front? Looks like a post-war reissue job.

I believe that rivet is supposed to be there and not all liners were leather I remember seeing one a dealer friend of mine had one like it But I can’t remember if it was one like mine 

Are you familiar with these NFL helmets?

I did check the liner with my black light and did not glow Also Why would someone put an original liner in the helmet ?

The front rivet looks a little large but did the Japanese use rivets that were all the same specifications?

If anyone can chime in on this it would help

I am told by someone more knowledgeable than I am that it is a "navy" helmet and not necessarily a "NLF" helmet.

I  did look at the liner and it passed the blue light so it original Also the rivets that hold it in place are original not messed with

 

Reason  it’s not leather is because Materials were short and it was cheaper or easier to use cloth rather than leather 

 

I also ran it by a dealer I know and said it all good The netting is also original which is a nice addition So thanks for everyone’s help
