Cookie4Monstah Posted September 13 Report Posted September 13 Greetings everyone, I bought a Japanese sword in WWII mounts from an auction a while ago (see link below). So I decided to send it out to be looked at a along with two other swords by Jimmy. Long story short the other two swords didn't pass muster for various reasons. He really liked this one though. Upon scrupulous inspection it appeared to be an Oei-Bizen sword. That's all I know for now. I did ask for a Sashikomi -style polish. Then wisdom was bestowed upon me. So apparently swords that come back with upper-level papers are done in Keisho-style polish for a reason. It's described as being an art sword's makeup before the show. There's nothing wrong with traditional Sashikomi like what I asked for, but it's like looking into a mirror. It's shows everything. I would still love to have it done in Sashikomi but I do intend to submit it for papers. I look forward to bringing you along on my journey. Peace, Khalid P.S.
