Very rare release button missing on earlier gunto help

Recent I pick up this earlier custom order sword and there is a missing button on the lock mechanism I see this very heavy and fat Tsuba before on a type 94 sword and I remember see a cherry flower as press button to release the sword is this flower what I missing here ?

If that screw is all that is there, then yes, the chuso is missing. There were, however, different designs for the sakura flower depending on the manufacturer.

Unfortunately these are uncommon to find on a sword, let alone as a loose piece.

Have  a couple of them but as mentioned difficult to find and expensive for what they are, UK based.

I guess I've never seen one disassembled.  I'm surprised to see that it is a screw holding these on.  Is that normal?

My Understanding is there are 2 types of these buttons see examples attached, hope this helps.
