William Jennings
Hey all! I have the opportunity to buy this sword, but I’ve never seen anything like it. The seller said it came off Okinawa and also has a good luck flag with it. What type of sword is it? What is its age and value? (Rough guess)
moriarty
Okinawa? To me it seems like a dha or taab from South East Asia, and not a very old version at that. Maybe a tourist trap?
Yumso
The shape seems like the head of naginata. Too thin to be 협도 or 월도.
Bruce Pennington
Does that blade actually fit in the scabbard? Doesn't look like it would. Did the locals have machetes?

But seriously, I'm with Bruce and am learning toward a farming implement for harvesting Goya or Sugar Cane. But IMO I wouldn't say it's a 'sword' in the context of what is normally dealt with here.
