William Jennings Posted September 6 Report Posted September 6 Hey all! I have the opportunity to buy this sword, but I’ve never seen anything like it. The seller said it came off Okinawa and also has a good luck flag with it. What type of sword is it? What is its age and value? (Rough guess) Quote
moriarty Posted September 7 Report Posted September 7 Okinawa? To me it seems like a dha or taab from South East Asia, and not a very old version at that. Maybe a tourist trap? 3 Quote
Yumso Posted September 7 Report Posted September 7 The shape seems like the head of naginata. Too thin to be 협도 or 월도. Quote
Bruce Pennington Posted September 7 Report Posted September 7 Does that blade actually fit in the scabbard? Doesn't look like it would. Did the locals have machetes? Quote

But seriously, I'm with Bruce and am learning toward a farming implement for harvesting Goya or Sugar Cane. But IMO I wouldn't say it's a 'sword' in the context of what is normally dealt with here.
