Well finally I managed to resize these pics.

Could anybody tell me approx.how old this blade would be?

I guess its a big call from a photo.

And what should I insure it for?

The pics don't have to be that small

Try and post a bigger pic of the nakago, and a part of the hamon. Hamon looks interesting, and not like a typical Showato. Look forward to seeing more. Signature?

I probably should have added that it is Mumei and overall in nice polish.

Do you think it could be presented at the next Shinza in Sydney?

Moved to Nihonto section, since this is definitely not a WW2 made blade. O-suriage, looks like a candidate for shinsa to me.

Of course nothing for certain from pics, but worth investigating.

Noticeably straight sword points toward Kambun Shinto, Bizen Yokoyama Sukesada would then seem like a reasonable bid.
