Authentic tanto?

Hey all, the seller says this is an authentic tanto. Im not certain. The patina of the tang has me worried. Any help would be appreciated. If real, the condition obviously isn’t great. What do you think the value is?

Wouldn't write it off completely just yet. There is a chance it's an abused naginata naoshi. They sometimes have very crude hi. Habaki is home made. Could be a fake, but if the mune narrows after the hi, could be old and abused.

Bo-hi looks odd.
It's uneven; seems like it gets wider near middle part and become narrow at the end.

I'm not convinced either. The shinogi extends into the tip which is really clumsy. Too many red flags and the dirt bath is inexcusable. Curious what the seller is saying and how much they're asking.
