Stephen Posted December 24, 2009 Report Posted December 24, 2009 Has anyone switched to Google Chrome for their browser? wanting to try something else...maybe new firefox? using old internet Exp. now
IanB Posted December 24, 2009 Report Posted December 24, 2009 Stephen, Yes I am running it without any problems. The only real complaint I have is that you have to remember to keep clearing out downloads else the file gets pretty big. Best wishes for Christmas and New Year Ian Bottomley
Stephen Posted December 24, 2009 Author Report Posted December 24, 2009 Thank you Ian and the other Nobal man who PMd me. Its giving me a few steps to go tru to cancle other one that has me a bit worried but id druge thru it.
Brian Posted December 25, 2009 Report Posted December 25, 2009 I haven't tried it yet, but Ted mentions using it with great success in the thread below this one. I have also heard good things about it from others. Brian
Ted Tenold Posted December 26, 2009 Report Posted December 26, 2009 Google Chrome is pretty good so far. I'm using it off an on, and I immediately noted how much faster things load with it. It's not a bloated as other browsers (IE8). I haven't used it long enough to encounter any real problems with it. But at face value, it seems very good. Your results may vary.
mattr Posted December 28, 2009 Report Posted December 28, 2009 I find it to be much quicker to launch than firefox (which has become quite bloated) and dont come across too many compatibility issues. Another great feature is that if the google search engine has encountered malware/spyware on a website that it crawls, this information is available to chrome and you will get a 'are you sure you want to proceed?' screen prior to actually accessing the site. This feature, of course, should not replace dedicated software to keep you safe (ie antivirus/malware/firewall) but I was pleasantly surprised when I encountered this feature for the first time.
