Jinghasa, perhaps?

Hi everyone!

Wondering if this is a jinghasa....would appreciate your feedback. There is a pic of a pair of  glasses for scale, as well as one closeup for material ID.

Thanks so much.

I was hoping it to be something more than a weird hat.

Anyway, the real treasure is having you people comment on it (and of course on a whole lot of things) expertly and swiftly🙂.

 Much appreciated. Many thanks!

I once had a WWII helmet liner that looked exactly like the item in question, except for shape. The material looks to me like fibreglass or something similar.

So it didn't 'looked exactly like the item in question' then! :dunno::rotfl:  Sorry Michael, but I just couldn't resist it!

I have had a few of the American M1 helmets with their fibre or plastic type liners.   I am pretty certain that the item in the original post is a fibreglass copy of a shield boss. The dimensions and form are correct for this, possibly even the embossed decoration if it it supposedly Celtic.
