Bob61 Posted August 13 Report Posted August 13 Hello I am asking today for information from this informative and honest forum for the selling value of this sword. It was bought by my wife's late husband from Bob Lightener in Cocoa Beach, Florida. Upon my very limited understanding, this is more than likely a gimei blade and I will be selling it as this. Unfortunately, I am in a position where this beautiful akuchi must go. I however, am at a loss as to where to start for pricing. The blade is in full polish and as can be seen by the pictures, beautiful. As this is not my first post, I come to this forum with the understanding that this is not a firm evaluation, but just a opinion and will be taken as so. I am asking here because I know that this forum is filled with extremely knowledgeable people and I appreciate and value your insight. I thank you in advance for any help. Bob Quote
Mark S. Posted August 13 Report Posted August 13 Best advice I can give is assume all the PM offers you get will be lower than what you should ask. 1 1 1 Quote
Tohagi Posted August 14 Report Posted August 14 It's a nice tanto, and it is complet. The mountings are matching but have been cleaned. In an (good) auction in France you could expect 1.500€ undependently of the meï ( the blade is good looking). If it could be kotetsu, you can add a 0 or more. Be carefull, an action is a very "emotional" deal and you'll have fees. It's just my opinion without hiden thoughts and I can be very far from a fair prince. Hope this could help... Éric VD 1 Quote
