PR1 Posted December 21, 2009 Report Posted December 21, 2009 First, thanks again for your confirmation and help (slight correction) before. Today I have taken delivery of a very fine (it seems) sho gunto with a very nice blade and a very poor mei. I think clearly it is No-Shu Seki Ju (blade maker) Saku Kore, am I right? The handwriting is appauling I think yes? OK, so I think I have all the dressing around the signature decoded, my eyes now rolling like the smilie you do not have. But can anyone please help me with the blade makers name ? (Plus confirm I got No-Shu Seki Ju and Saku Kore correct). I wonder if this blade maker was special as there is no seki / showa stamp. Thank you I hope in advance Pieter Japanese Katanas Quote
mdiddy Posted December 21, 2009 Report Posted December 21, 2009 I think it is 'Noshu Seki ju Hattori Masahiro Saku'. Here is a near exact example from Rich S's site: http://home.earthlink.net/~ttstein/masahir4.jpg. Quote
