Hi Folks,

 

I bought a new nihonto - sadly a bit over my budget meaning I have to sell 4 of my blades to finance it....but couldn't resist as it was love at first sight...

 

I wondered why would some of the blades have this red paint applied to them ? I saw this a few times before on a yari etc......

 

Thanks for your opinions....

PS: I'll not mention where I got it from and for how much to avoid uneccessary discussions...trying to focus on the blade and it's history only!
