pica Posted July 25, 2024 Report Posted July 25, 2024 I ask if anyone ever see this mon, I’ve searched but i haven’t found anything. Thanks in advance for any help Quote
Rivkin Posted July 25, 2024 Report Posted July 25, 2024 Can we look at the entire object? The reason I am asking is the bright yellow color of nashiji and the fact that its exetured with relatively large yellowish pieces. This is Taisho- early/mid Showa style and accordingly its interesting to estimate the role plaid by the mon. Quote
Tanto54 Posted July 26, 2024 Report Posted July 26, 2024 Hi Stefano, Looks like a nice saya. The mon is upside down. Its a Gohei Mon (crossed scepters used by Shinto Priests) - a variant of the one shown here. 6 1 1 Quote
Bugyotsuji Posted July 27, 2024 Report Posted July 27, 2024 Chigai Gohei, yes, and it also has elements of Noshi papers in it. 熨斗家紋 - 検索 画像 (bing.com) Another example... 語弊熨斗家紋 - 検索 画像 (bing.com) Quote
uwe Posted July 27, 2024 Report Posted July 27, 2024 As expected, I couldn't find an exact match Here are two examples which, however, differ in the arrangement of the paper strips: To simplify, guess we can call it "丸に違い幣" (Maru ni chigai hei). 1 Quote

uwe Posted July 27, 2024 Report Posted July 27, 2024 I think there are no bells at the mon in question, Piers 🤔 1 Quote
