Gerry
https://www.jauce.com/auction/c1145956282 This might be an interesting sword to own if someone's up for a polishing project.
Ron M
On these types of auctions, where they don’t let you bid if you’re out of the country, how do different countries win these? Do they have someone local who gets it shipped to them and then they ship to the winner?? I’m just curious what the approach is. Thank you
Lewis B
I don't have any personal experience but from my understanding the blade is shipped to the Jauce warehouse and they organise the onward shipping out of the country. Of course you may have to get Jauce to authorise your bidding and they slap a 20000 yen surcharge on top of the sales price for sword bids. Gerry
Correct. You sign up with Jauce, and they bid and handle the product for you all through shipping out the sword to you. The surcharges from Jauce are as follow: 1. 4% Paypal fee when transferring money into your wallent to bid. 2. 8% auction winning fee 3. Shipping fee from seller to Jauce. 4. Shipping fee from Jauce to you. For me in the US, it was about 18,000 yen, inclusive of premium insurance on EMS shipping. 5. 20,000 export customs fee if you're buying a sword. So the total pretty much comes out to about 20+% or so over your bid price.
lonely panet
I buy off jauce, they have alot of annoying fees but there packing is the best, heaps of padding. the postage fees are affordable. and they have nice stuff if you search. example I got a tachi stand sent to australia for $100 AUD postage via EMS, compared to a quoated $350 USD from UPS for a sword from the US to australia. so i know where im buying from

Thank you Once you register with them, with all your details you can select on an item to "unlock auction". Their response is around 24hrs so its not going to help much if an item is almost running out of time on the auction. But they will unlock the auction for you as long as you agree to all the additional charges. Then you are free to bid on that auction. Hope that helps!!!
