His first signature was Akihiro (Hirosaki) and he later changed his name to Kunitoshi (Tsugaru-jyujin). He was awarded the Honours of the Elder at the 7th Exhibition of New Japanese Swords (1942), the Navy Minister's Prize for 12 Masterpieces of Rising Artists and a special prize at the 8th Exhibition of New Japanese Swords (1943), the Chairman's Prize and the 10th Prize at the Army Military Sword Exhibition (1943) and the Minister of Army Prize and the 1st Prize at the Exhibition for the Encouragement of Military Sword Techniques (1944). He was highly regarded for his production of military swords. After the war, on 3 July 1954, he received approval for the creation of swords and won numerous awards at exhibitions of created swords and new master swords, and was recognised as an Aomori Prefecture Intangible Cultural Asset. Japanese Sword Preservation Society (NBTHK) nominated him as the top skill qualification prize MUKANSA in 1981. He worked hard on created swords, following the ideals of Rai Kunitoshi and Koubizen Tomonari. This work has a Katana with a strong body, a bright straight blade with a bright nioi, and fine workmanship in the blade. The Katana was created at the age of 69. Quote

Qualification not being the same as awarded. Although Sesko does indicate the list is a work in progress, so maybe the seller has some additional evidence to support the Mukansa attribution. Quote
