Daisho Tsuba opinions please

Could you please give your thoughts and opinions, I know everyone will scream Gimei but please explain why..

This is a really nice tsuba!

Off hand, I cannot read the artist's signature.

Both supposedly done when the artist was 71.

 

To me, it looks like late Edo work derived from one of the Ichijo's students. Possibly student of a student of Ichijo?

Thus, it doesn't strike me as likely to be gimei.

If someone translates the name, I will look it up with my texts.

Do you think this could be Nobuyuki or were there lots of artists in the school signing this way….

I was pretty far off with this one. I would not have guessed Hamano derivative.

Curious that it seems to have the signature on both sides.  Is that common?

The right side says it was made when he was 71 years old, and yes signatures extending to both the right and left of the nakago Ana are common.
