Pat5353 Posted July 5 Report Share Posted July 5 hello everyone true or false japenisr sword see photos and here is the description: This is an amazing Gendaito period, circa 1876-1945, Damascus Samurai Signed Katana and Koshirae. The traditional Japanese Damascus blade displays a Shinogi Zukuri design with a toriizori curve to the blade. The blade displays Damascus construction with the tang featuring a swordsmith inscription signature possibly reading Tayu Komoto. The Koshirae features black laquered saya with brass accents displaying embossed horse and landscape designs. The saya displays a brass kozuka and Kogai on the sides. The katana shows a copper or brass tsuba depicting a dragon with the brass habaki stamped with the serial number "77724". There are two daggers inset into the handle. The piece shows good condition overall with some file marks across the edge and light wear across the piece. The blade measures 36" long overall including the tang with the edge being 28" long.
